We follow Oregon Child Care Division licensing requirements and go above and beyond to create a safe, healthy environment for every child in our care.
Illness Policy
Children must be fever-free for 24 hours and free from vomiting or diarrhea for 48 hours before returning to care. Children must be symptom-free without medication used to reduce or mask symptoms. Please keep your child home if they show signs of a contagious illness to help protect all children and staff. When in doubt, please call us, we're always happy to talk it through.
Sanitation & Hygiene
We follow Oregon child care sanitation guidelines to keep our classrooms clean, healthy, and ready for play. Toys, surfaces, and high-touch areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly throughout the day. Handwashing is part of our daily routine, especially before meals, after outdoor play, and after diapering. Diapering areas are also cleaned and sanitized after each use.
Secure Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Your child's safety always comes first. Children are released only to individuals authorized on their enrollment paperwork, and photo ID is required whenever our team does not recognize the person picking up. Our facilities have controlled entry, and children are never released to an unauthorized individual, no exceptions.
Emergency Procedures
Our team is trained and prepared for emergency situations, including evacuations, earthquakes, lockdowns, and shelter-in-place procedures. We practice regular drills to help children and staff respond safely and confidently. Emergency contact information is kept current for every child, and families are notified promptly of any emergency or significant incident.
Staff Certifications
All staff are required to complete their CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire and must maintain current certification throughout their employment. Our team completes 24+ hours of professional development each year, including important health and safety training. All staff, as well as any adults regularly present in our facilities, complete required background checks before working with children.
Medication Administration
When your child needs medication during the day, we are happy to help. Prescription and over-the-counter medications can be given with a completed parent or guardian authorization form. Medications are kept safely out of children's reach, and each dose is carefully documented, including the time, amount, and staff member who administered it. Parents are notified the same day any medication is given.
